Party Poker Review
A Review of Party Poker .com
As of right now, Party Poker is the biggest online poker site on
the web. At almost any given time it can have over 90,000 people
playing on it in the evenings, and 50,000+ in the afternoons! Party
Poker holds the largest Limit Holdem tournament in the world, and
offers some of the biggest prizes, incentives and bonuses for those
who win their tournaments. Many people have won entrances to the
World Series of Poker Tournament.
Starting Up
Party Poker’s software only takes a couple minutes to download and
install. From this software, you can play a variety of casino games,
or bet on a number of different sports online. They regularly offer
both free and "real money" tournaments. When you go to set up a
"real money" account, it's really easy to do. All you have to do
is fund your account (with a credit card, by Neteller, e-Passport,
Firepay, IGM-Pay, Western Union Transfers and so on). After you
have done that, a service representative will call you to confirm
that you've funded your account (just to ensure that there is a
heightened level of security for people registering with them).
The Software Itself
The Party Poker software is very nice and easy to use, with everything
being laid out very well (so it's really easy to find your way around
to the game you want to play). As with other sites, you can customize
your avatar, change the deck color and so on. The software is very
well set up, as you can have your game history mailed to you, take
notes on other players, and auto-post blinds, or muck hands while
you are away from the game.
The Games
Party Poker offers a wide selection of Limit, No Limit and Pot limit
Texas Holdem, Pot Limit Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, seven card Stud, and
Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo. The highest limit for Holdem is $30/$60 and
they recently doubled the number of highest limit tables from three
to six tables. The lowest limit they have is $0.50/$1. They also
offer $1000 No Limit tables along with $600, $400, $200, $100, $50,
and $25 NL tables.
Unfortunately, there is not a large selection of high limit Seven
Card Stud tables: only two $20/40 tables available. Party Poker
also has Bad Beat Jackpot Tables from $2/$4 Limit Holdem all the
way up to $15/$30.
Party Poker's Tournaments
With tournaments always changing, it's best to check their site
regularly. But they offer a huge number of games and tournaments
that you can play, with buy ins being as low as $5.
Another unique feature is that players playing with "real money"
are eligible to win the bad beat jackpot - where a percentage of
every paid hand goes into a common pot (site-wide). If someone gets
a bad beat, the jackpot is divided up among all who are at the table
(though the majority goes to the one who got the bad beat). I've
seen this jackpot up over half a million dollars before someone
actually won it!
Deposit Bonus
You can get up to $100 extra just for signing up.
Deposit bonuses are earned once you have funded your account with
some real money (and you usually have to play a certain percentage
of it before you can withdraw it. Just so you know. If you're like
me, that question came into your mind pretty quickly!).
Player’s Club
Party Poker recently introduced a club where you get points based
on how many hands you play and how many tournaments you enter. These
points can be exchanged for Party Poker merchandise, or you can
use the points to play in Player’s Club Freeroll tournaments that
give away a variety of different cash prizes. You can also receive
bonus points if you deposit additional funds, play raked hands for
20 or more days in a month, or if you play between the hours of
4:00 AM and 2:00 PM EST.
The Players
The players on Party Poker are notorious for being some of the worst
players on the internet. The lowest limits are some of the toughest
to crack on Party Poker. The middle levels are soft and that’s where
a lot of people can make a profitable living if they play smart.
Party Poker allows you to play more than one table at a time, and
a lot of smart players take advantage of this feature.
Customer Service
Due to the large numbers of people using their software, customer
service can be a little slow - so be prepared to be patient, or
send a couple emails.
Summary
-Party Poker is the largest poker site online and they are adding
more players daily. -Their software is easy to use. -Their prizes
and tournaments are excellent. -Their low limit players are horrible
- they seem to want to chase anything, and pay dearly to do it!
-Party Poker Does Not Currently Allow Players from the United States
to use their site, due to new United States Federal Regulations.
